BodyTite is an FDA-approved procedure that melts fat and tightens skin simultaneously. It is a radiofrequency assisted lipolysis procedure or RFAL™, that is performed by a plastic surgeon under local anaesthesia, mild sedation or general anaesthesia depending upon the complexity and the extent of the body areas being treated. BodyTite is the first device of its kind, designed to heat dermal tissue from the outside and from within, for more consistent results.

This revolutionary medical procedure combines the safe and minimally invasive techniques of liposuction and radiofrequency, offers the most evolved contouring results and can be applied on various body areas to achieve the desired results for a harmonic body silhouette, safely and permanently.

The specialized BodyTite device targets persistent, localized fat and contours the body. At the same time, the emitted RF waves trigger the fibroblasts to tighten the skin tissue and improve skin firmness and texture on body areas such as the abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs, waist, back, arms etc.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. N. Kranidhiotis is probably the only plastic surgeon in Cyprus who uses the BodyTite method, counting years of experience.

How does the BodyTite procedure work?

The BodyTite is conducted through a unique handpiece that deploys radiofrequency energy from both an internal probe and an external electrode. The internal probe is inserted through a tiny incision. When moved across the treatment area, the electrode and internal probe precisely heat adipose tissue as well as superficial tissue beneath the skin. Built-in mechanisms ensure that the appropriate degree of heating occurs without damaging the skin.

How long is the procedure?

The procedure takes 1 ½ – 2 ½ hours and depends on the extent of the problem and the areas being treated.

How safe is the BodyTite Procedure?

BodyTite was designed by a team of scientists/engineers that are considered true innovators in the Medical Aesthetic field. The device includes 5 different safety mechanisms that protect the skin from incurring any damage. In the hands of an experienced plastic surgeon the BodyTite device is a very safe and effective tool.

How long is the recovery time?

Recovery time is relative to the extent of treatment conducted and may differ from person to person. Smaller treatment areas may need only a few days of downtime to return to optimal comfort. Larger areas, such as the thighs, hips, buttocks, and abdomen, may need a few more days. Typically, most patients return to their daily routine after 5-7 days.

Are there any reactions to the treatment?

Some common reactions 1 to 2 weeks post-treatment are oedema, sensitivity and bruising. These reactions are temporary and subside quickly.

Is the BodyTite procedure painful?

The patient is under local or total anesthesia during the procedure, therefore the procedure is not painful. If any discomfort is experienced after the procedure can be minimized with the use of painkillers.

When are the results noticeable and how long do they last?

The results attained with the BodyTite procedure are noticeable right away. However, skin tightening, and body contouring improve progressively in the days and weeks following procedure due to collagen production and cellular metabolism. This means that results may peak between 3 to 6+ months.

Typically, results can be maintained for 7-10 years or even more, but depend on the individual overall health, age, lifestyle, ideal weight preservation and inevitable ageing changes that may occur.

Can the procedure be combined with other treatments?

The results can be more easily maintained or even improved with non-invasive maintenance therapies such as the Accent RF, Velashape and/or το LPG.

The BodyTite procedure is FDA approved.
